While browsing Digg, I ran into Steve Ruble's blog entry "Transform Gmail Into Your Personal Nerve Center". I'm a big
fan GMail and GTalk and the idea of leveraging GMail's capability further by using it in conjuction with other web apps got me excited.
I especially like the idea of real-time news update through GTalk because I've been looking for a way to have the latest digg story headline pushed to me (tired of hitting Refresh all the time, digg RSS doesn't update fast enough). And Twitter provides an API that makes this possible!
So I immediately signed up with Twitter and created a bot (Twitter username: digg_feeds) that pushes digg headlines through Twitter. And voila! Now as soon as a new story gets on the frontpage of digg I know it right away. No more without having to check digg homepage periodically! I'm a happy camper =).
